Matthew Griswold Jr was paid for this gravestone in 1679. Lady Fenwick, who died in 1648, was the Husband of Lord George Fenwick, leader of the Saybrook settlement and the man for whom Fenwick point - the area in which this grave is found - is named. The stone has gone through a fair beating, having been originally located further south, nearer the shore; it was moved to its present location in the 1800's to make way for railroad tracks.
